Anthony T. Covetta, age 82, S. Spruce St., Jefferson, died Sunday afternoon at the Jefferson Healthcare Center where he had been a patient the past two weeks.
He was born December 9, 1935, in Warren, the son of the late George & Florence Covetta, and has lived in the Jefferson area the past 50 years. Anthony was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. He married Janice E. McCune on August 19, 1967, at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church in Jefferson. Anthony was a retired hair stylist, owning Anthony's Hair Styles on State Rd. in Ashtabula more than 30 years.
He was a member of St. Joseph Calasanctius Church. He enjoyed motorcycling, fishing, canoeing and traveling, especially the trip to Italy to meet his extended family.
Anthony is survived by his wife, Jan; a brother, Henry G. (Betsy) Covetta of Concord Twp; and two nephews, Dr. Henry (Maribelle) Covetta of Ashtabula & Don Covetta of Mentor.
The funeral mass will be held Friday at 11:00 A. M. at St. Joseph Calasanctius Church, 32 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with the Rev. Fr. John Ettinger as celebrant. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday from 10-11 A. M. at the church.
