Arlene Sue Reed, 74, of Ashtabula passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Geneva ER.
She was born April 16, 1943 in Dothan, Alabama the daughter of the late Curtis love and Mary Clute. Arlene resided in Ashtabula most of her life, she graduated from Ashtabula High School Class of 1961. Arlene married the love of her life Charles Reed in Millersport, Ohio on June 21, 1963.
In her earlier years she worked at Eagle's Club in Ashtabula, and then worked for many years at the Hills and Ames Department store before their closing. Arlene loved animals and she also enjoyed reading, gardening and listening to Elvis. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Arlene is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles; children, Carl (Carol) Reed, Sr., Tina Reed, and Gary (Tina Watson) Reed, all of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Carl Reed, Jr., Charles Reed, Kristina Hamilton, Darayl Reed, and Annie Rose all of Ashtabula; sister-in-law, Mary Swinning; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Mary and Thomas Marsh; father, Curtis Love; and granddaughter, Ashlyn Nikole Warner-Reed.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, with Rev. Thomas McCain officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in north Kingsville.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
