Celebration of Life for Beth Alison MacCarthy will be June 17, 2017, at Crowne Plaza Cleveland Airport Grand Ballroom, 7230 Engle Road, Middleburg Heights, Ohio 44130, at 11:30 a.m. Service will begin at 12:00 Noon with luncheon to follow.
Loving mother, devoted wife, cherished daughter, aged 42, died peacefully with her husband and parents at her side after a courageous 5 1/2 year battle with stage IV breast cancer.
She is survived by her son, John L., and husband, Edward S. of Bay Village, Ohio; parents, Jeffrey and Carolyn Douglas; brother, Brett Douglas; grandmother, Marian Douglas of Ashtabula, Ohio; uncle Bill Douglas (Jeanette) of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and uncle Keith Douglas (Debbie) of Omaha, Neb.; and dear aunt of Zackary Douglas of Erie, Pa.
Beloved daughter-in-law of Denis and Bonnie; sister-in-law of Kathleen McCarthy, Kelly and Kristy; dear aunt of Jimmy, Michael Ashbrook, Patrick Baker and Ava.
Beth was preceded in death by her grandparents, Maxine and Charles Rose and William Douglas; and her aunt, Priscilla Chrisman.
Beth was formally educated as a baker at the International Culinary Institute of Pittsburgh, Pa., and worked at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel for 13 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom.
She was passionate about pets, a supporter of the arts, Human Rights, and Equality among all.
She was loved and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and colleagues.
In Lieu of Flowers, Beth asked that donations be made in her name to her favorite causes: Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, Cuyahoga County Animal Protective League, The Hospice of the Western Reserve, and The Village Project, Bay Village, Ohio.
