ASHTABULA- Billy Joe Goodman, Sr., 73, began his heavenly journey on Thursday, February 21, 2019.
The son of Thomas J. Issacs and Maggie M. Goodman, Billy Joe was born on April 4, 1945 in Huntington, WV.
Billy Joe was employed with Lake City Plating for more than thirty years and retired as Plant Manager.
On June 27, 1964 Billy Joe and Antonia M. Seratta were united in marriage. They enjoyed being married to each other and sharing their love with friends and family for forty-four years, until her death on November 29, 2008.
Billy Joe was a motorcycle and classic car enthusiast; he enjoyed quiet day of fishing and country music.
His heart was with his family; he encouraged and supported his children, loved and spoiled his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Billy Joe is survived by his second wife, Bessie Goodman, whom he married on October 16, 2010; children, Vicky (Joe) DeAngelis and Verlin (Felicia) Goodman both of Ashtabula; grandchildren, David A. Shumaker, Verlin Karsikas and Angel, Timothy, Tabitha and Billy Joe (Amanda) Goodman, III ; great grandchildren, Grayson Shumaker, Heaven Noble, Brendan Noble, Jr., Bently Goodman, Promise Goodman and Ryan Goodman.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Antonia M. Goodman; his son, Billy Joe Goodman, Jr., brothers, Ted, Lonnie and Verlin Goodman.
Private Family Services will take place at Saybrook Cemetery. No calling hours will be observed.

Danielle Lambert and Sheryl we miss talking with Bill and visiting him in the old garage telling jokes and always had a pot of coffee almost every morning with the local neighbors talking about what they were up to, he could make you smile all the time you were there,laugh so hard you would cry,will miss him dearly,may GOD Bless you all that had a part of his life.
