Carlie Ann Rice Carlie Ann Rice, age 90, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, with her family by her side. She was born August 17, 1928, in Cherry Valley, Ohio, a daughter of Hattie Erwina Clark and Delo Budd Burlingham. Carlie was nearly a lifelong Andover resident and graduated of Andover High School in 1947. She owned her own home in Canal Winchester for the past two years. Carlie married David L. Rice on June 19, 1948 and was a devoted farmer's wife for sixty-two years. She was longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Andover and attended the Peace Free Lutheran Church of Canal Winchester, Ohio. Carlie was formerly a member of the Ashtabula County Farm Bureau.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Rice, who died on October 26, 2010; her son, Jeffrey D. Rice who died in 1990; a sister Laveta Gibson and a brother, Budd Burlingham. Survivors include her son, Jan A. (Beth) Rice of Canal Winchester, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Joanne Burlingham of Andover and many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Noon at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio, with Rev. Ric Harvel officiating. Burial will follow in West Andover Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
