NORTH KINGSVILLE - Charles Stuyvesant, 85, of North Kingsville passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 after a brief stay at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
Charles was born on February 21, 1932 in West Newton, Pennsylvania. He worked at United States Steel, in Pennsylvania, until it closed, and retired from Rockwell Brake in Ashtabula after 20 years. While in the Army, he proudly served with the 11th Airborne two years in the Korean War. He was a member of the Kingsville Baptist Church.
Charles is survived by Laverne, his wife of 62 wonderful years; sons, Gary (Bonnie) Stuyvesant and Jeff (Terri) Stuyvesant of Ashtabula; grandson, Jason (Sarah) Stuyvesant of Jefferson; granddaughter, Christi (Paul) Kupfer of Georgia; step-granddaughter, Amber (Charlie) Goetz of South Carolina and Lindy (Lance) Feazel of Florida; sister-in-law, Carol Vargo of West Newton, PA; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Evelyn (Barton) Stuyvesant; step-grandson, Joey Daywalt; daughter-in-law, Dorina Stuyvesant; and sister, Ruth Snyder.
A private family service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 with Rev. David Hines, Pastor officiating.
