Charles A. Chuck Yocum, age 83, of The Villages, FL passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born in Youngstown, OH on August 19, 1934. Chuck served in the US Army and after his military service returned to Ashtabula, OH where he found employment with Reliance Electric and Engineering Company retiring after 38 years. Chuck was a very active member of the Ashtabula Lions Club having served as President twice. He was also on the Zoning Board of Appeals for Ashtabula Township. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching college football. Chuck was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Summerfield, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Connie Yocum; son David Yocum of Chicago, IL; sister Vivian Rozzo; brother- and sister-in-law Richard and Rita Kobak all of The Villages, FL; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews scattered throughout the country.
A Mass of Christian Burial Service will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 7081 SE Highway 42, Summerfield, FL 34491 on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 10:00 am. A luncheon will be held at the church hall immediately after Mass. Inurnment with military honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL on Friday, January 12, 2018 following the luncheon.
