Charlotte Christine Melaragno


Charlotte Christine (Ginn) Melaragno, 89, passed away on Tuesday January 29, 2019; the day that would have been her 70th wedding anniversary.

She was born on May 9, 1929 the daughter of Joseph S. and Helen (Koskondy) Ginn.

Charlotte married the love of her life, Albert F. Melaragno on January 29, 1949 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. They were married 62 years when Albert passed away.

They both loved the music of the 40's, dancing and traveling. The trip of their lifetime was to 5 countries: England, France, Germany, Belgium and Whales. They also spent many winters in Florida.

Charlotte was a great cook and baker. She also loved to play music of the 40's and 50's on the organ. She also loved making flower arrangements and special occasion cards.

She has been a member of Mother of Sorrows Church for the past 62 years.

She was the greatest mother to her daughter Cheryl and son Ronald.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Gary) Cairns and her son Ronald (Susan) Melaragno; her brothers: Joseph (Nadine) Ginn, Robert (Veronica) Ginn, Richard (Lynn) Ginn, David (Judy) Ginn and Ronald (Chris) Williams; her sisters: Jean Orsuto, Marie (Frank) Petronio-Zigman, and Marlene Whelpley; her sister-in-law Carol Ginn as well as many nieces & nephews and 10 God-children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; he husband Albert, and her brother Charles Ginn.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 12:00 at Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 W. 6th Street, Ashtabula. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Calling hours will also be held on Friday morning at Mother of Sorrows Church from 10:00 a.m until Noon when the Mass will begin.

Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Hospice of the Western Reserve.

The CZUP FUNERAL HOME, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula is handling the services for the family.
