Cora R. Arkkelin

ASHTABULA - Cora Arkkelin, 89, passed away July 9, 2017.
She was born in Bradford, PA on Jan. 21, 1928 the daughter of Frederick and Esther (Gleason) Rink.

Cora was well known in Ashtabula County for the many years she spent working as a realtor, at Miller Realty and Coldwell Banker-Hunter. "Hurricane Cora" was a racing legend, one of the first women to race with men, driving at NE Ohio and NW Pennsylvania race tracks. She also enjoyed playing pinochle, corn hole and in her own words, she "lived on facebook"
Cora is survived by the family that she was devoted to; children: Linda (Gary) Porcello and Dr. Daniel Arkkelin; her grandchildren: Brian (Kathy), Don (Heather), Harold "Joe" (Jennifer) II, Scott, Stacey, Kristin, Gerald "Jay-J" Jr., Justin (Carrie), Aaron (Sonia) and Adam; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchild, her brothers: Jack, James, and Joe Rink and her sister Sally West.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wallace Sr., and her sons: Wallace Jr., Harold and Gerald.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, July 15 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.at the Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman St. Geneva with the service immediately following. Contributions in her name can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Geneva FOE Auxiliary.
