Dillard Lynn Hitchcock, 87 was called home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 to join his beloved wife, Martha.
Lynn is the son of Dillard and Adelina (McCoy) Hitchcock and was born on October 3, 1929 in VanBuren County Tennessee. He and his family moved to the Ashtabula area in 1971 to make their home.
On May 28, 1949 Lynn and Martha Oldfield were united in marriage and enjoyed each other's company for fifty seven years prior to her death in May of 2006. During their marriage they created many fond memories that are now cherished treasures of the family.
Lynn retired from Rockwell brake after twenty years of dedicated service; as a machine repairman.
Lynn was a man of many talents and hobbies; he was always available to go fishing, or camping. Over the years he and Martha traveled to most of the states. Lynn was an avid gardener and he was determined to have a weed free garden. He was involved with the 55 plus club of the Kelloggsville Nazarene Church.
Lynn will be remembered for his sense of humor, his use of Gorilla Glue, his strength, determination, dignity and great love of his family.
Lynn is survived by his five children, Sharon (Ken) Keener of Perry, Donna (Alan) Sutch of Madison, Patty (Paul) Dingess of Ashtabula, Ronald (October) Hitchcock of Austinburg, and Larry (Patricia) Hitchcock also of Austinburg; ten beloved grandchildren; and six precious great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Lynn was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha; his grandchildren, Scott Sutch and Jacob Hitchcock; his siblings, Juanita Ashburn, Lonnie Hitchcock, and Judy Giovengo; and his parents.
Funeral Services are at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the Zaback-Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004. Rod Kincaid, Pastor of the Jefferson Nazarene Church, Jefferson, Ohio will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed from 10:00AM until time of service at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at the funeral home.
