Dolores's Story

Text size

Dolores Crane passed away and from the perspective of her being free from the suffering of this world, we are happy. From the perspective of not having the chance to share more moments with her, there is sadness.
May the burden of this death be lightened from all those that mourn. May we all find peace of mind as we find our way through this sadness.
Dolores was born May 4, 1929, in Gageville, Ohio, the daughter of Hugh F. and Ursul (Long) Wick. She graduated from Kingsville High School in 1947 as Valedictorian, and Ohio State University with Honors in 1952. Dolores married Hobert Crane 1951 and they resided in Ashtabula. They were married 45 years.
She enjoyed her home, flowers, singing, embroidery, knitting, crocheting and the birds at her backyard feeders.
Dolores was a member of the Lake Avenue Methodist Church and later the Harbor United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir for 45 years. Dolores played the piano all her life. She liked little children and taught first grade for 30 years. After retiring, she tutored those who needed a little extra help for 24 years.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Donna; a sister in infancy; and her husband, Hobert in 1996. She is survived by her son Terry Crane of Ashtabula; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thank you to all the family and friends that kept Dolores in their prayers. Thank you also the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of the University Hospital Geneva Medical Center, University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, Ashtabula Primary Care Center, Geneva Village and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their kind care.
At Doloress request there will be no calling hours. There will be a private family service.
Contributions may be made to the family.
