Donald J. Benham, 98, of Hiram, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 28, 1919 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Glenn and Nellie (Wood) Benham. Donald served in the United States Army and was a Bronze Star recipient.
He was a member of the Masonic Rising Sun in Ashtabula. Donald loved to travel the United States in his Airstream trailer. He belonged to the radio group, Ham Radio. Donald was a devoted member of the Garrettsville United Methodist Church and Edgewater Union Church. He wrote many articles for the Middlefield Post.
Donald is survived by his daughters, Judy Aley of New Jersey, Pam Goddin of Cleveland and Diane (John) Blevins of California; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Flora (Smith) Benham and brother, Laurence Benham.
Honoring Donalds wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held later in June 2018. Family requests no flowers to be sent.
