Edward's Story

Edward Newton Rankin II, (aka Edward Plescott) a resident of Conneaut, passed away on Thursday, July 20, after a long struggle with COPD. He was born March 24, 1968 in Bedford, Ohio. Ed was a die-hard Cleveland sports fan. He played pee-wee football during his elementary school days when he also collected football and baseball cards. He loved hunting and fishing. Some of his favorite memories were with his pap, dad, uncle, and cousin at camp Bad Shot. He loved his truck, especially when he took his mama mudding in it. He was a 1986 graduate of Ledgemont High School and Ashtabula County Joint Vocational School. He loved getting together with his family for Karaoke parties. He was a drywall hanger by trade starting at a young age helping scrap houses. He also worked at Lincoln Electric for many years. Ed enjoyed working on his vehicles with his son. He will be sadly missed by his family. Ed is survived by his parents, Susan Jeavons, Wayne and Carol Rankin, and Edward Plescott; children, Kristi (Walter) Buczak, Stormi (Cliff) Fletcher, Edward N. Rankin, III, (Jasmine Sanders), Erika (Jeff) Hess; grandchildren, Chloe, Edward, Katie, Cadence, and Carter; siblings, Tracy (Steve) Dennis, Jamie (Kyle) Geese, Jennifer Toothman, Michael (Amanda) Ondrejko, Nicole (Don) Watkins, Tim (Crystal) Rankin, many nieces and nephews who adored him, and so many more. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, step-father, Sid Jeavons, and a brother, Bobby Ondrejko. A Celebration of his life will be held at 7:30PM Monday, July 24, 2017 at Russell-Sly Family Funeral Home, 15670 W. High St, Middlefield, OH 44062. Calling hours will be held prior to the service starting at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to offset funeral expenses.
