Eleanor Victoria Chizmar, 97, formerly of Geneva, passed away peacefully, November 20, 2017 at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice House in Akron, Ohio.
She was born February 3, 1920 in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late Carl and Sally Lukas. Eleanor married the love of her life Frank Chizmar in Geneva on July 23, 1941.
Eleanor worked for many years at Inland Container in Saybrook, Ohio. Her most rewarding job was raising her family. She enjoyed cooking, especially baking. Eleanor baked cookies for family weddings and was known for her nut and poppyseed rolls and kolache.
Mrs. Chizmar is survived by her son, Frank Thomas Chizmar, Jr., of Kent; daughter, Eleanor (Phillip) Kerosky of Ponta Vedra Beach, Florida; six grandchildren, Chris (Beth) Chizmar, Jennifer (Lee )Ott, Heather (Scott) Bowman, Glenn (Lori) Peggs, Gail Peggs, and Missy (Tim) Hendricks; and thirteen great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank in 2013; daughter, Frances Chizmar in1992; daughter-in-law Carol Chizmar; siblings, Mary, Ann, Cecelia, Bernice, Helen and Tony; and her parents.
A graveside service in the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, Carpenter Rd. (W. 19th), Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 1PM.
