BONITA SPRINGS [ndash] Eugene (Geno) C. Duva, 89, of Bonita Springs, FL, died on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by his family. He was born in August, 1928, in Ashtabula, the son of Ernesto and Carmella (Manupella) Duva.
Returning to Ashtabula following service in the Army Air Force, Mr. Duva worked as a boiler maker until his retirement. In his younger days, Gene loved to dance, until an industrial accident took his leg. After the accident, he enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing, and making fishing lures. He was known for his special smile and had a great sense of humor.
Mr. Duva was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Mario (Murch); and two sisters, Lucy Solembrino and Carmel Hovi.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol (Burkhart) Duva; a son, Wesley (Robin Urban) Duva; and several nieces and nephews.
No memorial services are currently scheduled, but may be announced at a later date.
