Gary A. Fusco

October 17, 1950 - September 16, 2018

Gary A. Fusco, 67, passed away late Sunday evening, September 16, 2018, with his loving family by his side following a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer.
Gary was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on October 17, 1950, the son of John and Betty Fusco.
On Gary's 26th birthday, October 17, 1976, he married Lenore Marie Williams of Harborcreek, Pennsylvania, at the First Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula. Together they celebrated almost 42 years of marriage.
In 1977, Gary began his almost 40 year career with the water company. He finally retired from Aqua in 2016. Lenore and Gary established and operated BJ's Beach House together for 25 years. He and Lenore recently built a home in Palm Bay, Florida, where they retired to enjoy time with their daughters and grandchildren.
Gary was a member of several Rotary Clubs and the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the American Water Works Association and held an Ohio EPA Class II Distribution License. He worked in many regions of Northeast Ohio, including Mentor, Ashtabula, Geneva, and Struthers.
Gary enjoyed classic cars, motorcycles, Cleveland sports teams, fishing and the outdoors, gardening, his beloved pets and all wildlife. Gary would have given the shirt off his back to anyone in need and would welcome anyone into his home that needed a place to stay. Above all, Gary will be remembered as a hard worker who always put his family first and took pride in everything he did. Gary's wife and daughters were his reason for living; that is until he became "Pappy." His grandchildren stole his heart and were the light of his life. His love for his family was immeasurable.
He is survived by his loving family: his wife Lenore; his daughters: Billie Jo Fusco-Williams (Scott) of Ashtabula and Bobbie Jo Fusco-Klasek (Corey Parsons) of Palm Bay, FL; his grandchildren that he was so very proud of: Colter James Klasek, Isabella Marie Klasek and Cason Scott Williams; he was 1 of 6 sons born to John and Betty Fusco and also had 5 half brothers and 2 step-brothers; he is also survived by his very dear, lifelong friends: Patricia and William Walker and Jim Weaver; sister-in-law Barb (Skip) Wright; as well as many nieces; nephews; cousins; kitty Fluffy; and granddogs Sammie and Cosmo.
He was preceded in death by his father John; and his mother and step-father, Betty and Robert Henry; as well as many brothers.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the CZUP FUNERAL HOME, 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 11:00 am at the CZUP FUNERAL HOME 1329 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula. Burial will follow at Mechanicsville Cemetery.

Gary and I had some fun times. I remember him taking me around in his yellow Chevy that he was so proud of. He was always upbeat and fun. Always a joke or two...
Just a sweet kind-hearted guy, and tough when he needed to be. All our love.
