Gene L. Anderson, 77, of Ashtabula, died on Monday January 1, 2018, at the Lantern of Saybrook.
Born January 10, 1940, in Spencer, West Virginia, he was the son of William W. and Zanna O. (Bailey) Anderson.
On November 7, 1959, he married the former Mary Ann Laszlo in Ashtabula. Mr. Anderson was employed with MFG, Roadway Express, as a Chauffeur for R.W. Griswold, and retired as owner operator of Anderson Enterprises and GMA Storage. He was a founding member of Lake Shore Cruisers, racing at Thompson Drag Raceway, building cars, his Wee Hauler, spending time with his grandchildren and his new great grandchild "little face."
Survivors include his son Lonnie (Sherri ) Anderson ; daughters Regina Tackett, Maryjean (Patrick ) Taylor all of Ashtabula; grandchildren Mandi Anderson, James Anderson, Rebecca (Kevin) Driscoll, Ezra Tackett, Kayla (Justin) Fuller, Matthew Burch; great grandchild Natalina Fuller, Josh Taylor and Katie Taylor; sister Bernadine (Edward) Fanning and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Ann Anderson; and a brother Richard Anderson.
Funeral service will be on Friday January 5, 2018, at 1:00 P.M. at Guerriero Funeral Home 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M.
