Geneva Adams, 64, passed away unexpectedly while a resident of Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, September 18, 2017.
She was daughter of John T. and Hattie (Harris) Robinson, Sr. Geneva was born on February 22, 1954, in Ashtabula, where she remained a lifetime area resident. Geneva was a proud graduate of Ashtabula High School.
Geneva and William P. "Duke" Adams were united in marriage on May 30, 1980; their thirty seven years of marriage was one of love, loyalty and faith. Their selfless love for each other is one that should be emulated in the marriages of others. Their children were blessed to have them as parents and to share the journey of love.
Geneva was a member of Hiawatha Church of God in Christ. Her dedication to the church and to its members did not go unnoticed. Her love of God was shown in her everyday life. She treated everyone she met with grace, humility, joy and the Love of God. In 2009 Geneva suffered a stroke, but her love, smile, and laughter still brought joy to everyone.
Geneva worked for Geneva Rubber and Pre-Mix and enjoyed her friendships with fellow employees.
Geneva loved her family. Her love for them was unmeasured and nonjudgmental; she would be willing to help anyone at any time. She was her mother's right hand; she was always there ready to help whenever she was needed. Geneva loved to cook for her family and they loved her cooking. No one could cook catfish and chitlins like her!
Geneva's greatest joy came from her family; she is a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, and aunt. She will be remembered for her love of God, her strength and dignity through adversity and her willingness to persevere through the trials of life.
