Gloria Campbell, 84, passed away peacefully at her apartment in Bee Cave, Texas, on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was born March 21, 1933, in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, the middle child of George and Mary Heckendorn. She attended Conneaut High School in Northeastern Ohio and graduated in 1951. She married Charles Campbell on June 13, 1953, and they were inseparable from that point forward. She graduated from University of Pennsylvania at Edinboro in 1955 with a degree in Education, and began a career in teaching of over 30 years.
Gloria and Chuck had their only child (Kyle) in December of 1968. It was that same year they opened their first of what would be 3 restaurants in Ohio. After 15 years in the restaurant business they moved to Austin, Texas, and Gloria went back to teaching elementary school at Wooldridge Elementary. She had a passion for teaching, loved children and had a fulfilling career in Education.
In 1995 Gloria and Chuck moved to Sun City Georgetown to begin their retirement. She was active in her square dancing club, golfing and fitness. Her husband passed away in July of 2009 and she spent the rest of her life in Austin.
She will always be remembered for her kind ways and warm smile that would light up any room.
She is survived by her Son Kyle; his wife Nicole; grandchildren Carson and Kylie of Austin, Texas; Nephew Scott Torok of Geneva, Ohio; Nieces Mary Kay Falconer of Tallahassee, Florida and Janet Dewey of Ashburn, Virginia.
The family would like to thank the staff of Silverado Bee Cave for their Compassionate and Loving care of Gloria in her final years. Their love of Gloria was exceptional and we are deeply grateful for the care she received there.
In Lieu of flowers memorial gifts in her name may be made to Alzheimer's Association: alz.org
