Harold "Murph" Paul McNish, 86, lifelong resident of Burton/ Middlefield, Ohio passed away Saturday, May 13th, 2017.
Harold was born on May 24, 1930 in Burton, Ohio, son of Howard Paul and Florence (Russell) McNish.
Harold worked for A.J. Ronyak, Ronyak Paving, Osborne Paving and retired from Schloss Paving.
He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local #18 & National Belgian Horse Association. Harold was well known locally and in the Draft Horse World for raising show quality Hitch Belgian horses.
Harold and Jelane traveled and showed at the Ohio State Fair, The Great Lakes International Show in Detroit and National Belgian Draft Horse Show in Lexington, KY. He showed horses at the Great Geauga County Fair for over 50 years and was a member of the Agricultural Society. He was a Local Dairy farmer and enjoyed Pulling horses, farming and playing Pinochle with his friends.
Harold is survived by his children: Dennis (Lisa), Rick, Jeff, Patti (Mark) Dolezal, Robin (Robert) Fisher and Dan (Emma) Gieseler and the children's mother Jean Bartholomew McNish; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jelane in 2012; his Parents; his Brother and Sister in-law Donald & Betty McNish of FL; a nephew, Donald McNish Jr; his sister Ruth McNish Lawrence and grandson Griffin Gieseler.
We would like to Thank and Acknowledge Rhoda (Robert) Miller and Anna (James) Miller, both of Mesopotamia for their wonderful care and friendship they provided for our Father over the last 5 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at the Middlefield Market Auction Pavilion, 15848 Nauvoo Rd., Middlefield, Ohio, OH 44062. A private family burial at Claridon Center Cemetery will be held at a later date.
