James "Jim"'s Story
James "Jim" R. Pearson, 84, residing in Cincinnati and formerly of Milan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Arden Courts of Anderson after a courageous battle with dementia.
Jim was born on May 2, 1933 in Ashtabula, OH to the late Clarence and Bertha (Johnson) Pearson.
Jim was a 1951 graduate from Ashtabula Harbor High School and received his bachelor's from Bowling Green State University. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim was an accountant at Ford Motor Company and Dayton Superior. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ashtabula. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians, woodworking, and had a love of the Great Lakes and visiting lighthouses. Jim was very much a man of integrity and will be missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Kinzel of Zionsville, Indiana, Deborah (Monty) Wolf of Cincinnati and Susan (Dennis) Leonard of Toledo; son, Robert (Lora) Pearson of Upper Arlington, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer, Timothy, Eric, Raleigh, Gretchen, David, Ann, Seamus and Brendan; 2 great-granddaughters, Victoria and Eleanor and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy A. (Mellon) Pearson; second wife, Nancy (Palo) Pearson; son-in-law, Jerome Kinzel and brother, David Pearson.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 2 pm at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main St, Milan with Reverend Ric Babcock presiding. Burial will follow at a later date in Milan Cemetery.
