Janet Alene Powers, 79, of Ashtabula passed away peacefully Thursday, December 21, 2017at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born April 7, 1938 in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late William Walter and Flora Mae (Case) Cartner. Janet married the love of her life Donald Powers on October 21, 1955.
Janet worked for many years at the Fuji Photo Lab in Dallas Texas and locally at Universal Cleaning in Ashtabula. She enjoyed playing Pinochle and Cribbage with her brothers, sons, and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting at Lakeshore Park with her husband listening to the water and watching beautiful sunsets. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Powers was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 2003; son, Louie Pirigyi in infancy; brothers, William, Richard (Jeannie), Walter (Dee), Kenny (Linda), Gene (Ruthie), Donald (Char), Jerry, and Ronald (Betty) Cartner; and her parents.
She is survived by her children, Debbie (Richard) Parker, Tom (Lonnie) Powers, Jenise (Ralph) Jeffrey, Bob (Glenda) Powers, John (Diane) Powers, Richard (Dawn) Powers; grandchildren, Tammy, Doug, Sabrena, Lisa, Jenny, Tabitha, Traci, Jeff, Talitha, Crystal, Kristy, Michael, Jason, Jennifer, Lacie, Angel, Melissa, Donald, and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Joe, Stephanie, MerSaddies, Vanessa, Hanna, Rebecca, Emilio, Noah, Kayla, Tyrone, Jamael, Tristan, Marissa, Shayla, Omar, Cameron, Christopher, Gavin, Zane, Shane, Ana, Anthony, Davonte, Kevin, Jayden, Dameon, Ariana, Allie, Taylen, Christian, Aiden, Declan, Hope, Collin, Alexandra, Jake, Logan, Alexandra, Seth, Isyabel, Wyatt, Allie, Dominic, Huston; great-great grandchildren, Gionni, Arabella, JoeVoni, KiYel, David, Alskar, Bryson, Jerico, Journey, Jaylin, Xavier, Maycee, Malaki, Colten, and Lucianna; and sister-in-laws, Shirley and Carol Cartner.
A celebration of Janets Life will be held on July 15, 2018 at 3855 Mann Rd., Ashtabula, Ohio beginning at 12:00P.M.
