Janet Bowers Rose, 75, of Cortland, Ohio, died Thursday, Dec. 7th, at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. Born January 13, 1942 in Warren, Ohio, she was the daughter of Paul C. and Margaret V. (Boyd) Bowers.
She was a graduate of Lakeview High School and received her Bachelors of Arts degree from Oberlin College. She had been employed in the family business as a systems coordinator /bookkeeper for Bowers Insurance Agency in Cortland.
Janet enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Hallwood in Saybrook Township surrounded by many friends. She also enjoyed reading in her spare time and also was a bat conservationist. She was a member of the Trumbull Art Gallery.
Surviving her is her husband, Rick M. Rose whom she married September 3, 1966; a daughter, Wendy (Travis) Forbes, DVM of Columbia, MO; a son Stephen (Laura) Rose of Canal Winchester, OH; four grandchildren, Cian Rose, Ciara Rose, Callen Forbes and Caiden Forbes; a sister, Mary Beth Manning of East Hampton, Mass; and a brother, Bennett (Rainy) Bowers of Cortland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 16th, at 11:00 AM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, with family friend Pastor Glen Warner officiating.
Calling hour will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
