Janet Arlene Tinney Janet Arlene Tinney went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, November 2, surrounded by loved ones. Janet was born on April 23, 1953, in Ashtabula, Ohio. She resided in the Geneva area for her entire life and was a graduate of Geneva High School class of 1971. On July 22, 1972, Janet married her high school sweetheart David Tinney. She was a wonderful wife, loving mother and nana, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all. Janet loved singing, crafting, shopping, reading, going to garage sales and spending time with her family and friends. Janet and her husband Dave managed the Ben Franklin Store in Geneva. She was the Assistant Manager/Loan Officer of Security Federal Savings and Loan. Janet was Office Manager at First Assembly of God and recently retired from Third Dimension. Janet was a member of Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, Ashtabula County Board of Realtors as well as treasurer of both the Geneva Business Women and Geneva Lions Club.
She is survived by her husband David Ray Tinney; sons: Brian (Jennie) of Macedonia, Jason (Sabrina) of Geneva; mother: Ida Mae Rogers of Geneva; siblings: Bonnie (Dennis) Russell of Mentor, Tom Nordquest of Geneva, Larry Nordquest of Aurora, Tamara Pollock of Geneva; grandchildren: Leann, Jacob, Darren and Brianna Tinney.
Preceded in death by her father Calvin Nordquest; step-father Harry Pollock; father-in-law and mother-in-law Paul and Elizabeth Tinney.
The family wishes to thank the many caregivers at UH 5th floor Lerner tower and Hanna House for their wonderful care and support.
Services will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 828 Sherman Street, Geneva, Ohio. Calling hours 5-8pm on Wednesday, November 7. Funeral at 10am on Thursday, November 8 with Rev. Steve Maugh of the Faith Community Church officiating. Burial following service.
Memorial donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
