Joyce E. Howard, age 83, of Geneva, passed over peacefully September 28th. Loved by family and friends, she will be long missed. She thanks you for your friendship.
She was born August 17, 1934, in Geneva, the daughter of Donald & Evata (Perry) Holmes and has been a lifelong resident. She attended Ohio State University. Joyce retired in 2001 after 10 years with the Geneva Public Library.
Joyce was a very civic oriented individual. Through the years she was a Lady Jaycee, Pink Lady, Red Cross blood drive volunteer, delivered books to shut-ins and volunteered at the Geneva Food Pantry more than 15 years. She was active with the Wednesday Pinochle and Bridge Clubs and enjoyed cross stitching, knitting, quilting, doing crossword puzzles, was an avid reader and a great Indians fan.
Survivors include two children, Catherine A. (Ken Kangas) Limpert and Gerald R. (Kimberly) Howard, both of Austinburg Twp., seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She joins in heaven her parents and a daughter, Marie, who died in infancy.
Graveside services will be held in Perry Cemetery (corner of Center St. & Middle Ridge Rd.) Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11:30 A. M. A Celebration of Life gathering with a catered lunch will follow the burial at the Geneva Library, 860 Sherman St., Geneva.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Geneva Library Book Fund, (above address) or the Geneva Food Pantry, 62 W. Main St., Geneva, OH 44041.
