Kanawah "Ken" Johnson, 81, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Lantern of Madison.
He was born on March 20, 1936 in Buckingham County, KY the son of John Epp (Sillar) Johnson and Loberta Younce.
Ken proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957.
He dedicated thirty years as a mechanic for General Motors in Lordstown, enjoyed attending church at the Pentecostal Church of God, hunting, working on his two corvettes, and was an active member of the Masons for many years. Ken would also tell you he was proud of his Native American roots.
He leaves behind his beloved mother, Loberta Younce; daughters, Cheryl (Mark) Hellmer and Debbie (Jeff) Goss; sons, John (Amy), Tom (Kris), and Ken (Heather) Johnson; sisters, Fayette and Phyllis; brothers, Maynard, Burnard, John, and Paul; grandchildren, Cassie, Cory, David, Kelcie, Marka, Drew, Mason, Micah, Trevor, Alyssa, and Heath; great-grandchildren, Kylie and Creedance; and his longtime companion, Margaret Pinney.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Betty Jo.
Ken will be buried in his home town of Louisa, KY.
