Kara Jean Zdanczewski, age 13, passed away tragically Thursday, May 11, 2017.
She was born Feb. 17, 2004, the daughter of Stanley and Deanna Zdanczewski and had been an Ashtabula resident for the past two years.
Kara was an incredibly young lady. She loved animals and had a special interest in tigers, bats, and dinosaurs. A truly inquisitive student, she enjoyed school especially science, math, and reading. Some of her friends in school called her superwoman for her knack of always sticking up for others when they were being bullied.
She was a country girl at heart and loved listening to her dad's Johnny Cash CD, fishing, the outdoors, and swimming in Lake Erie. For some reason, she even loved the snow during winter. Kara also enjoyed drawing and woodworking, but will mostly be remembered for her loving nature and her desire to always help others.
Her survivors include her parents, Stan and Dee Zdanczewski; her siblings, Brea, Brandon, and Audrey; grandparents, Stanley and Mindy Zdanczewski; her niece and nephew, Sophia and Caleb; and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Our Lady of Peace, St. Joseph Church, 3330 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, followed by a Celebration of Life Gathering in the basement of the Church from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. The Rev. Raymond Thomas, Pastor, will preside.
Friends and family are encouraged to wear orange in honor of Kara since it was her favorite color.
Contributions may be made to ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula, OR to the Kara Zdanczewski Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of AACS, 2630 West 13th St., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Any overpayments on funeral expenses will be forwarded to the memorial fund.
