ASHTABULA Leona DeLuia, 88, passed away Friday November 24, 2017 at ACMC .
She was born in Denmark, Ohio on February 4, 1929 the daughter of Mark and Edna (Anderson) Rood.
Leona has been with her loving husband Fiori Pierre DeLuia for the past 69 years.
She has been an active and devoted member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-Mt. Carmel Church for most of her life. She was a loyal volunteer for BINGO, the annual church festival and with the soup kitchen. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching TV. The times Leona most enjoyed in life where those spent with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband Fiori Pierre, her daughter Clara Ann Ross; her grandsons: Tony Vargas, Rickie Vargas, and Scott Vargas; and her great-grandchildren: Kadence Vargas, Gabriel Vargas and Kendra Sawicki.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son John C. Ross as well as 11 siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Peace Mt. Carmel Church. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 6 pm at the CZUP FUNERAL HOME, 1329 Lake Avenue Ashtabula. Memorial contributions can be made to the family, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
