ASHTABULA- Lois Mae Braid, 92, of N. Kingsville, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born July 13, 1925 in Dumas, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Knox) Colflesh. She graduated from Confluence High School. She then went on to Uniontown School of Nursing and later graduated from Kent State University School of Nursing with her degree as a Registered Nurse.
Lois worked as an industrial nurse for Reliance and Rockwell Brake for many years. She then established Maes Mitey Maid Service as a part of Ashtabula Floor Cleaners, which she co-owned with her husband James Braid, which serviced Ashtabula County for 50 years. Lois was a faithful member of Gateway Assembly of God in Austinburg.
When her children were young she was a Girls Scout and Brownie leader, and taught Sunday school at the Presbyterian Church of North Kingsville. Lois will always be remembered for her love and dedication to her children and grandchildren. They were very precious to her, and brought much joy to her life.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. (Ronald) Timonere of Jacksonville, FL; sons, Stanley R. Mitchell Jr., and Terry A. Mitchell both of Ashtabula, OH; grandchildren, Melisa A. (Douglas) Sellers of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Ryan J. (Melissa) Timonere of Jacksonville, FL, Nicholas G. (Bernardine) Mitchell of Galena, OH, and Michelle K. (Christopher) Bartone of Conneaut, OH; great-grandchildren, Michael P. Hutchinson, Nicholas S. Sellers, Grant L. and Grace E. Timonere, Nicholas E. and Alexander J. Mitchell, ; and sisters, Dorothy (Colflesh) Brake, Waneda (Colflesh) Rugg
She was preceded in death by her husband James Braid in 2013; daughter, Diana Mae Mitchell; brothers, Ronald, Paul, Victor, Dale, and Daniel Colflesh; sister, Carrie (Colflesh) Weimer and her parents.
A service for family and friends will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, E. Center Rd., in North Kingsville, with Associate Pastor Ryan Nevil of the Gateway Assembly of God Church officiating. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 until the time of service at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray funeral expenses.
