Patricia "Pat"'s Story
Patricia Lynn (Schmidt) Laughlin, 65, of Conneaut, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
She was born November 17, 1951, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Charles and Anna (Craig) Schmidt, and had remained a lifelong area resident.
Pat worked at Premix, now Ashulman, in North Kingsville for 28 years before her retirement in 2000. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Pat was also an active member of the Conneaut Moose Lodge #472, and the Woman's Chapter #86, and the American Legion Cowle Post #151. When she wanted to relax, she enjoyed visiting and volunteering at the clubs for different events and gardening.
Pat was very active with her children and grandchildren, always there when they needed her, never missing a game or school program, and always looking after them and getting them where they needed to be. She was a true support system for all of them, and will greatly be missed by those closest to her.
Pat is survived by her longtime companion, Roger Garrigus; daughter, Tina (Patrick Ogren) Curtis; son, Ed (Kayla Johnson) Laughlin, II; grandchildren, Kyle, Elenea and Denver; mother, Anna Schmidt; ex-husband and father of her children, Ed Laughlin; brothers, Bill (Pearl) Schmidt, Sam (Renee) Schmidt, and Tim (Kristi) Schmidt; sister, Tammy (Mark) Owens; step-sons, Robert "Bob" and Mark Garrigus; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Schmidt; and son-in-law, Robert Curtis.
