BEACHWOOD Peter Franz Rauhe, 77, formerly of State Road, Ashtabula passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Windsor Heights Assisted Living.
He was born May 22, 1940 in Berlin, Germany, the son of Eberhardt and Alexandra (Simagina) Rauhe and had been an Ashtabula resident since 1962.
On January 19, 1963, he married Nancy Kresovich and together they shared 54 years together.
He worked 40+ years as a cure man for Ashtabula Rubber Company as one of the more productive piece workers in its history.
He enjoyed collecting, breeding and showing exotic tropical fish and received many awards over the years for his collection. He was an avid Cleveland sports enthusiast. He also enjoyed watching old western movies and listening to country music.
Pete will always be remembered for his tireless work ethic and his love of family.
His survivors include his three children, Peter (Barb) Rauhe of Shaker Heights, Ginger Malcolm of Canton, and Scott (Dawn) Rauhe of Lakewood; and eight grandchildren, Peter M., Julia, and Elena Rauhe, Zach and twins Megan and Marisa Hofstetter, Emily Malcolm, and Aidan Rauhe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy, on April 6, 2017 and his parents.
Calling hours will be from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 4524 Elm Avenue, Ashtabula. Deacon Rich Johnson of Our Lady of Peace will preside. Burial to immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, the Alzheimers Association, or the American Cancer Society.
