Raymond John Augustyniak, 91, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Ashtabula Medical Center.
He was born August 25, 1926, in Detroit, MI, the son of John and Mary Ellen (Lukas) Augustyniak, and raised by grandparents, Carl and Sally Lukas.
Ray was a proud member of the United States Army. He worked as a truck driver for many years at Reliance Electric, and upon retirement was able to do more of the things he loved.
He loved to listen and dance to polka music with his first wife Josephine, and they even won many awards. He also enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with his second wife, Peggy.
In his free time Ray enjoyed gambling (fortunately for him he was always lucky), watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and making pieces out of stained glass.
He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Mary Ellen (Jim) Goudge and Denise George; son, Greg (Janice) Augustyniak; step-daughter, Peggy Jean Rice; sister, Irene Medwith; grandchildren, Jim and Seana Ray, Erik and Kim (Juan) Oldaker, Melanie Augustyniak, Julie (Alex) Schomers, Nicole Campbell, and Heather (Jon) Mooney; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Josephine (Gruca) Augustyniak; second wife, Peggy (Lago) Augustyniak; and daughter, Darlene Campbell.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 10-11AM with a service to follow at 11AM at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 West Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
