Robert's Story

Robert William Hegfield, IV, 62, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 30, 2017.
The son of Robert Hegfield, III and Beverly (Metzler) Hegfield, Bob was born on June 11, 1955 in Ashtabula and had remained a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Ashtabula High School and Kent State, Ashtabula, Bob remained active in the community.
Bob and Ann Hashier were united in marriage on May 12, 1984 and their thirty-three year marriage was one of many cherished memories. Which are now treasures of the heart.
Bob is an active member of The Second Congregational Church of Ashtabula; where he participated on many committees; currently serving on the Cabinet.
Affectionately known to many as "Banker Bob" he enjoyed a thirty year career in the banking industry. His willingness to help folks achieve their dreams made him the perfect go to person. He believed in their dreams and wanted to be a part of their success.
Bob was a member of The Western Reserve Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club and the Lake Shore Cruisers. Bob's love of cars lead him to own many over his life time and each vehicle was special to him.
Bob was a member of the Elks, Kiwanis and Rotary, active in the Ashtabula County Republican Party working on many campaigns, Community Action and 4-H.
Bob was the rock of his family. He cared for each one with love and kindness and gentle teasing. He was steadfast in his love for his friends and family, Bob will be remembered for his wonderful work ethic and willingness to help wherever needed.
Bob is survived by his wife, Ann; his children, Joseph Hegfield of Rhode Island, Dennis (Toni) Culliton of Madison, Denise (Allen) Pannetta of Willowick, and Brian (Cher) Culliton of Perry; grandchildren, Sarah, Jenny, Jason, and Jacob; his mother, Beverly Hegfield of Jefferson; brother, Gordon(Laura) Hegfield of New Hampshire; nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert W. Hegfield, III.
Celebration of Life Services will be announced at a later date. Private Interment was observed.
