Ronald H Fortney


Ronald H. Fortney, 66, of Jamestown, PA, formerly of Albion, PA, passed away surrounded by loved ones May 3, 2019.
He was born in Sharon, PA, on June 19, 1952, to Hugh and Florine Fortney (Martin).
Ronald attended Northwestern high school and graduated in 1970.
He worked as a boilermaker for Riley of Erie for over 28 years, then in the steel mill for Roger brothers of Albion. He was a welder.
Ronald served in the Coast Guard stationed in Erie.
On May 12, 2001, Ronald married Jody Fortney. She survives at home.
In addition to his wife he is survived by: Travis Thurber of Hartstown, PA; Tyson Thurber, his fiance Jodi of Jefferson, OH; daughter Jennifer Major, her husband Ronald of Perry, OH; daughter Michelle Fortney of Ashtabula, OH; son Martin Fortney, his wife Danielle of Erie, PA; sister Lori Fortney and April Hetrick of Girard, PA; sister Anna Lahnan, her husband Eric of Conneaut, OH; brother Les Fortney of Conneaut, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife Betty Fortney (Martin).
Ronald was cremated and had requested no services.

Our condolences to the family. Was saddened to hear of my cousins passing. We were quite close when growing up, I spent a lot of time with Aunt Murt, Uncle Hugh, Ron, Leslie, Loretta and Anna...Prayers...
