Ronald Jackson, 78, passed away peacefully at home Sunday a.m. with his wife at his side. Ron was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2014. He was placed on Hospice last Thursday.
Ron was born Nov. 20, 1938, the son of John Jackson and Evelyn (Gouchneaur) Jackson also of Ashtabula.
Following graduation from high school, Ron served in the U.S. Navy, something he was very proud of. He worked in banking and management. Ron moved to Arizona in 1987. He married the love of his life, Linda (McEndree) Jackson on August 29th, 1989. They would have celebrated 28 happy years of marriage.
Ron quickly settled into life in Arizona. He preferred western wear to suits and ties. Ron was outgoing and made many friends over the years. He enjoyed golf until a back surgery prevented it but the hobby he enjoyed most was playing cards. Ron belonged to the Sun City Men's Club, the Sun City Elks Lodge, the Glendale Moose lodge and the American Legion. He also enjoyed a night out dancing with his wife, going to the local casinos or to Nevada and attending the horse races.
Ron is survived by his sister Lynne (Jackson) Cole of Erie, Pa., along with several nieces and nephews. Ron had two children, Randy Jackson and Lori (Jackson) Avsec along with four grandchildren.
Ron will be greatly missed. Ron loved life and he was always full of fun and a joy to know. Now he is with the Lord and his heavenly family.
Arrangements were made through Science Care. Memorial contributions can be made to Banner Hospice.Phone 1-480-657-1100.
