Stanley A. Kosiba, age 78, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 14th, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 14th, 1938, in Cleveland, the son of Stanley and Florence (Kramer) Kosiba.
He graduated from Holy Name High School in Cleveland and was a United States Coast Guard Veteran, serving on the USCGC Topelo as an engineman. He also drove for CCX for many years until his retirement.
On April 29th, 1961, he married the love of his life, Rosemarie (née Basalla), and together they shared
56+ wonderful years.
Stan was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, where he was very active in teen renewals, cooking, bus driving, scouts, and Eucharistic minister. He was President of the Holy Name Society and also a proud member of AA for 33 years.
He enjoyed model trains, railroading, and Great Lakes ships. He was a local historian and took joy in sharing all he knew about history. Stan could often be found hunting or fishing, as he was an avid outdoorsman. He loved watching the Browns with his family and most importantly, he loved The Lord.
He was so proud of his family, loved them all very much, and reminded them of that every time they spoke or saw him. He was such a wonderful man, loved by many. Truly one of a kind, who if you met him, even just once, you surely wouldn't forget it. Many things will be missed about him, but most of all, his way to make light out of any situation with his unique sense of humor and contagious laugh.
Beloved husband of Rosemarie (née Basalla); loving father of Theresa R. Janke, Stan N. Kosiba, and John C. (Tammy) Kosiba; cherished grandfather of Nicholas Kosiba, Sarah (Matt) Terry, and great-grandfather of Alice Terry; dearest brother of Linda Watt and others deceased; dear uncle, brother-in-law, and friend of many.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 21st, 2017 at GOLUBSKI FUNERAL HOME, 5986 Ridge Road, Parma. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 AM Thursday at the funeral home, followed by Funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Leo The Great Parish, and interment at Brooklyn Heights Cemetary.
