Steven C. Miller, age 67 of Rome, Ohio, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at his home after a long illness.
He was born Oct. 6, 1949, in Erie, Pa., the son of Joseph L. and Joyce M. (Norton) Miller. He was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School in Erie and received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Gannon University in Erie.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, working at the Freedom House rehabilitation center in Frankfort, Germany.
Steven founded Turning Point in Franklin, Pa., and was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at Glenbeigh and other agencies.
He was a member of the American Legion in Orwell; the Kiwanis Club in Ashtabula, and AA for 34 years.
He enjoyed boating, golfing, swimming, bowling, skeet shooting and was a big Brown's fan.
Surviving him is his wife, Vicki (Town) Miller; a daughter, Julia (Daniel Lazarz) Miller of Lexington, Ky.; a son, Joe Miller of Kent, Ohio; a nephew, Daniel Miller of Erie, Pa.; his godmother and aunt, Marianne Darling of Erie, Pa.; his mother-in-law, Dolores Town of Saybrook; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Miller.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, April 18th, at 11 a.m. at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with Alisa Nierzejewski, Certified Celebrant, officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Township Cemetery with American Legion Post #103 conducting military rites.
Calling Hours will be Monday, April 17th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
