Wilbur  Poyer


Wilbur Poyer, age 94, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at UH Geauga Medical Center. He was born in Cleveland on February 9, 1925, the son of George and Mary (Patterson) Poyer.
Wilbur was married to "the love of his life" Patricia (Kohler) Poyer on May 4, 1957. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Philippines and Korea. He was the owner of Poyer Supply, which was a plumbing and heating business, for over 50 years. Wilbur attended New Promise Church in Kirtland, was a member of Orwell American Legion Post # 719, VFW and past Chief of Hartsgrove Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed traveling to other countries and vacationing in his RV visiting family and friends around the US. Florida was a destination for him in the winters. He was a farmer at heart and a jack of all trades. He will be remembered as a hard working man who was giving and willing to help whenever needed. His Heart was always in Hartsgrove.
Survivors include his children Bruce (Jayne) Poyer, of Hartsgrove and Gayle (Tom) Wochele of Hartsgrove; also many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife; step father Cy Miller; brothers William and George Poyer; and sister Marie Novak.
No services will be held at this time. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Hartsgrove Twp. Firefighters Association (HTFA), 5321 State Rt. 534, Rome, OH 44085. Condolences may be made at painefuneralhome.com.

Have no doubt he will be riding on his tractor in Heaven. Such a wonderful man with many great stories. He will be missed by many. Rest In Peace Wilbur
