Willie L. Meachem
ASHTABULA- Willie Lee Billie Meachem, 65, was called home on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 while a resident of Carington Park.
The son of Hattie Meachem, Billie was born Mississippi County, Missouri on November 11, 1951.
Billie attended Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Billie was employed at Allmans as the head cook and truly enjoyed his work.
Billie was a giving man who was very involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews; he was their favorite uncle. Billie enjoyed traveling and being with his family in buffalo and Chicago, convertible cars; it was always nice to drive with the top down! Although he was a professional cook, cooking was also his hobby. He never tired of cooking for his friends and family. Billie was a fan of the INDIANS and now they have an Angel in the outfield.
Billie will be remembered as a family man who always thought of others before himself. He was gifted with a generous heart and loving spirit.
Billie is survived by his sister, Irma Rutledge of Buffalo NY; his nephew Romel Hanna who was caregiver and friend, other nieces and nephews, Willie Hanna, Sr., Thelma Hanna, Anthony Hanna, Marva Rutledge and Stacie Parker, whom he loved as his children
Billie was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Hattie Meachem; his grandmother, Mary Yarbough; nephew Willie Hanna, Jr.; and many other loved one, with who he is now rejoicing.
It was Billies request that no public services be observed. He will be buried at Chestnut Grove Cemetery with his Grandmother, Mary Yarbough.
Ducro Funeral Services and Crematory, 4524 Elm Avenue is handling arrangements.
Billies family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Bella Care Hospice for the kindnesses shown to Billie and his family. You made his journey home one of peace and dignity. Thank you
