Andrew Joseph Gluvna Jr., age 93, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
The son of Andrew and Julia Gluvna, he was born in Kingsville, Ohio, on May 19, 1923, and had remained a lifelong area resident.
Andy spent sixty-seven wonderful years with his wife, Nancy (Giddings) Gluvna, until her passing on Jan. 21, 2015.
He worked as an electrician for nearly forty years at Bow-Socket, and when he was away from work he was still finding something to tinker with. He was truly a "fix-it" man, whether he was fixing one of the many clocks he collected or building his own home.
Aside from collecting clocks, he also enjoyed going to flea markets and antique shops looking for various items to bring home and add to his many collections, such as his tools, which came in handy for his wood carving.
Andy leaves behind his beloved son, Andrew III (Lynn) Gluvna; daughter, Nancy DeMarco; brothers, Jim, Tom, and John (Gale) Gluvna; sister, Delores Jordan; grandchildren, #1 Tim (Heather) and Jillian DeMarco, and Haley and Andrew IV Gluvna; and great-grandson, Drezdin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Gluvna; brother, Joe; and sisters, Mary and Ann.
It was Andy's wish that no public hours be observed. A private family service will be held.
Andy's family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff and residents of Ashtabula Country Club and Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care and friendship towards Andy.
DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, is handling the arrangements.
