Audrey's Story

Audrey Marie Zars 81 of Ashtabula died Saturday August 12th at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home. She was born May 2, 1936 in Swandale, West Virginia the daughter of Herman and Ida (Gibson) Hamrick.
She was a nursing assistant for nineteen years at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home until her retirement.
She enjoyed crafts, crocheting and gardening. She also loved going to church and visited many churches in the area.
Surviving her are two daughters, Diana (Terry) Welton of Ashtabula and Kimberly (George) Martello of North Kingsville; four grandchildren, Terry, Lisa, Andrew and Matthew; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Julia; two brothers, Terry Hamrick of Arkansas and Floyd Hamrick of West Virginia and two sisters, Nancy Hubbard and Carol Woods both of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Halley Hamrick and a sister, Garney Belle Hamrick in infancy.
Funeral services will be Wednesday (August 16th) at 1:00 PM at the Ashtabula Home of Fleming & Billman Funeral Directors and Crematory, 526 W. Prospect Rd. Ashtabula with Pastor Robert Falke of Church of the Living God officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
