Charles Edward Jarvi (Chuck) of Prescott, Arizona peacefully passed away on April 30, 2017. Chuck was born the son of Veronica and Edward Rudolf Jarvi on March 22, 1938 and raised in Conneaut, Ohio along with his five sisters. A long-time Prescott resident, member of the First Congregational Church and lover of animals and nature, Chuck is also a former businessman. He is best known in the greater Prescott area for running highly successful concrete and concrete pumping businesses. For many years prior to his retirement in 2006, Chuck was known throughout all of Yavapai County as the best concrete contractor who always got the job done with great expertise and personal care. In 1988 Chuck married Laramie Williams of Prescott and they remained happily married for nearly twenty-nine years leading-up to Chuck's passing. Chuck and Laramie loved to entertain family and visitors and attend Sunday services at the First Congregational Church. Mostly, they loved to be at home, taking long walks, and caring for stray cats and animals. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Veronica and Edward Rudolph Jarvi and two of his sisters, Judy Jernejec, and Anita Walkden. Chuck is survived by his wife Laramie Jarvi of Prescott, his son and daughter-in-law Charles and Deanna Jarvi and grandchildren Chase, Kennedi, and Grayson Jarvi of Oklahoma, his surviving sisters Carole D'Amico, and Linda Forsty of Ohio, and Mona Bogart of South Carolina, as well as Laramie's five adult children, Katie Russell of California, Jim Williams of California, David Williams of Nevada, Amy Spangler of Massachusetts, and Michael Williams of Oregon, along with multiple step-grandchildren who all adored and loved their Grandpa Chuck, AKA The Captain. Private family services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017.
