Darlene Joyce Vaughan, age 70, beloved wife and mother died on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
The daughter of Paul and Iva (Cook) Dickey, Darlene was born on Dec. 13, 1946, in Santa Maria, Calif.
Darlene loved being a wife, mother and homemaker. She loved gardening, cooking, and caring for her pets.
She will be remembered most for her warm and generous heart. If you stopped by her home, she was sure to feed you a warm meal, a cup of coffee, and send you home with a load of goodies. That was her way of showing hospitality and loving others.
Darlene is survived by her children, Joy J. (Christopher) Gebhardt, Vincent P. (Francis) Vaughan and Gregory G. (Amanda) Vaughan; grandchildren, Edward Ryan Vaughan, Marcus W. Nichols, Hannah J. Nichols, Paige, Mollie, Bailey, and Mia Vaughan, Madison, Ava, and Caden Vaughan; great-grandchildren, London Elizabeth Nichols, Aidan Austin Nichols, and Sydney Vaughan; sister, Carol (Fred) Minarik; and half-sisters, Paulette and Michelle Dickey.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Vaughan Sr. who died in 1997; sons, John H. Vaughan who died in June 2009, and George E. Vaughan Jr. who died in August 2016; grandchild, Austin J. Nichols who died March 2013; her parents; and half-sister, Stacy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
Calling Hours will be observed from 3 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. Burial held at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017, at Little Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery in Maysel, W.Va.
