Dorothy M. Alden, age 93, of Westview Dr., Jefferson, died Monday evening at the UH-Geauga Medical Center.
She was born Sept 16, 1923, in Dorset, the daughter of William and Viola (Cochran) Kyle, and had been a lifelong area resident. She was married to the late Estell R. Alden in St. Louis, Mo., and had 65 wonderful years together before his death in 2011.
Dorothy was a 25-year employee of the General Electric Corp., retiring in 1984. She was an active and very involved member at the Jefferson Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen F. (Edward) Holstein of Jefferson; a grandson, Terry E. (Melanie) Holstein of Cedar Point, N.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Post and Caden and Kinsley Holstein.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Estell; and two brothers, Rupert and Howard Kyle.
Funeral services will be held Friday, at 2 p.m., at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Pastors Rod Kincaid and Shirley Deemer officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery.
