Douglas George Coxe, DDS of Ashtabula died unexpectly in Painesville, Ohio. He was born June 1, 1953 in Ashtabula the son of Doulas M. Coxe, DDS and Janet Louise Coxe. He was a graduate of Harbor High School in Ashtabula; he received Bachelors degree from Case Western Reserve and graduated from The Ohio State College of Dentistry.
He was a dentist at the Douglas G. Coxe, DDS family Dentistry and Orthodontics for Adults and Children in Ashtabula.
He played football for the 1970 Harbor Mariners and also was an avid weight lifter. He loved to travel and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and he loved his family. He also enjoyed treating all his patients.
He received the Joslin Diabetes award for fifty plus years of having the disease.
Surviving him is his wife Shirley (Smolen) Coxe whom he married October 9, 1982; three children, Douglas S. M. (Delfina Barela) Coxe, Kathryn Coxe and Kyle Coxe; a granddaughter Hailey Coxe; a brother, Christopher (Penny) Coxe and two sisters, Kerry (Gregg) Konzen and Shauna Bilbrey. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be Saturday (Sept. 9th) at 12:00 PM at Saybrook Cemetery, Route 45 in Saybrook with Pastor Chester Howes of the Faith Fellowship Church officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the cemetery.
