Janice Kay (Brown) Holden, 78, of Pierpont passed away peacefully with her family by her side July 17, 2017 at Lake West Hospital.
She was born February 24, 1939 in Pierpont the daughter of the late, Charles Lee and Sylvia Elsie (Thompson) Brown. Janice was a lifelong resident of Pierpont graduating from Pierpont High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, David Holden, on June 16, 1957 and recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
Mrs. Holden was the homemaker and caretaker of the family. Not only did she raise her family and care for the family home and book work for the family business, she was also the main caretaker of many of her family members over the years.
Janice was an active member of Pierpont Presbyterian Church, where she once held the positions of Elder, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed entertaining guests. She often had a house full of friends and relatives. She had a special touch with small children and made the worlds best chocolate chip cookies.
Mrs. Holden is survived by her husband, David Holden of Pierpont; children, Cynthia (Michael) Fichera of Cornwall, NY, Debra (Max) Thompson of Monrovia, Liberia, and Glen (Robin) Holden of Pierpont; brother, William (Louise) Brown of Phoenix; brother-in-law, Pat (Beverly) Holden of Pierpont; grandchildren, Alex Fichera and Giovanna Fichera, Jay Thompson, Sarah deLima, Lydia Nascimento, Ramah Provost, Marcelly Thompson, Andrew Holden, and Olivia Holden; great-grandchildren, Jonathon, David, and Ryder Thompson, Kairo and Kimberly Nascimento, Caleb and Micah Provost; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son, Lee David.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM At the Williams-Ducro Funeral Home, 1071 State Route 7, Pierpont, Ohio 44082, with Rev. Larry Carr, pastor of the Pierpont Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Pierpont.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
