Judy Elaine Sly (Jackson), age 69, of Mesopotamia, went to be "together again" with her husband Don on Saturday, May 20, 2017.
She was born March 1, 1948, in Warren, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Alice Jackson. She was a member of the Farmington Rainbow girls, was a majorette for the West Farmington high school and graduated in 1966.
Judy worked for Ohio Department of Natural Resources after high school and she went on to receive her Beautician License and worked for several local beauty shops. She was a waitress at Katie Huber's Restaurant in Mespo, and was a Postal Clerk for many area Post offices.
Judy was a dedicated charter member of the Mesopotamia Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Aux "Fire Fly's". She loved nothing better than being with her grandchildren, and would gladly pull out her trusty i-Pad to show you her latest photos of them.
She enjoyed going out to different restaurants with her friends; loved traveling, especially to South Carolina and to Pennsylvania to watch the elk with her brother and sister-in-law. Her family and friends will miss her.
Judy is survived by her loving sons, Donald (Mary Kay) Sly II and Justin (Kelli) Sly; her beloved seven grandchildren, Jacob, Kaileigh, Meagan, and Benjamin Sly, Kristen (Adam) Clausen, Nicholas (Ashley) Barbieri, Kati (Josh) Davis; six great-grandchildren, Riley, Maddy, Emerson, Nicholas, Maggie, and Nathan. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald L. Sly, who passed away Feb. 10, 2016; her brother, Joseph A. Jackson who passed away July 18, 2016. A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 26, 2017, at RUSSELL-SLY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 15670 W. High St., Middlefield, Ohio 44062.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mesopotamia, Ohio. Pastor Edwin Pollari will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
