Kathleen Delores Starcher, age 73, of Saybrook Landing, passed away Friday, April 21, 2017, at UH-Geneva Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 30, 1944, in Chardon, Ohio, the daughter of Michael Gruss and Anna Marie Wheeler and had lived in West Virginia and Iowa, before returning to Ashtabula County.
She served as the owner/operator of Dixie Diner in Dixie, W.Va., a job she truly loved because of her love of cooking.
Kathleen also enjoyed crafts, ceramics, and gardening, but most of all she loved her family.
Her survivors include three children, Tamara Clark of Jefferson, Ohio, Kimberly Blankenship of Kannapolis, N.C., and Stacie Papineau of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Michael Gruss of Oklahoma, Harvey Gruss of Texas, David Gruss, Jerry Gruss, Richard Gruss, and Larry Gruss, all of Wisconsin; sisters, Louise Dunlap of Kansas, Gloria Arp of Tennessee, Patricia Locke of Texas, Mary Davies of Wisconsin, and Audrey Kawlewski of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Stephenson; her father, James Gruss; her mother, Anna Marie Wheeler; two brothers, Paul and John Gruss; and granddaughter, Christina Blankenship.
No services will be held at this time.
