Mark D. Hopkins, age 57, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 3rd, 2017.
He was born May 1, 1960, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of Herbert and Irene (Olson) Hopkins. He grew up in Conneaut and graduated from Conneaut High School with the Class of 1978. He was a Navy Veteran and served aboard the USS Constellation.
He was a truck driver for many years driving eighteen wheelers. Also, he taught high school drivers training.
Mark loved his family, many friends, all animals and music. He was an accomplished bass guitar player and was known to have composed several songs.
Survivors include his parents, Herbert and Irene Hopkins of Conneaut; siblings, Susan Diamond of Conneaut and Stephen (Jackie) Hopkins of Westerville, Ohio; nephews, Eric and Chad Hopkins.
Calling Hours will be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, June 11th, and 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the Marcy Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick J. Van De Motter officiating from Good Shephard Lutheran Church.
Burial will take place in East Springfield Cemetery.
