Mary Leota Suplinski, 81, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, while a resident of Saybrook Landing.
Leota was the daughter of Harry and Ruby (May) Gillespie, and was born on Nov. 3, 1935, in Alvon, W.Va., and had been an area resident the majority of her life.
Leota was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Mother of Sorrows church.
Leota was employed with Morell Dress Shop for several years.
A wonderful bowler, Leota was on several teams and took her bowling seriously. Over the years she received many awards for her accomplishments. She also in enjoyed spending time dancing.
Her true calling was raising her family. A wonderful daughter, sister, mom, mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma, her family was first in her life. Her constant love and support was the cornerstone of her family.
Leota is survived by her children, Camille "Candy" (Steve) Abraham of Ashtabula and Cosmo "Cosie" (Karen) Fish, Jr. of Birch River, W.Va.; her granddaughters, Heather (Roy) Hall and Alexis Abraham, both of Ashtabula; her first great-grandchild, Gage Hall; her sisters, Hester Stickney of Eagle, Idaho and Vickie (Tom) Partridge of Ashtabula; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Leota was preceded in death by her husband, James Suplinski, and her parents.
It was Leota's wish that private family services be observed with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
